Wire frame and Haunted House

Here are a couple of the projects from our retreat… a fun wired frame with covered clothes pins and a darling Haunted House with a bat to boot!  I paired them up together to put in my front entry hall and they look just BOOtiful!

So does anyone want to make a fun wired frame? We started with a 12″ x 12″ frame (which works perfect if you want to put a piece of scrapbook paper behind it!)  We painted it black and then distressed it by sanding it good all over.We simply used a staple gun to hook the wire to the back.  Make a loop in each end of the wire and make sure that you staple on each side of the loop and across the middle.  Do this on both sides.  That is all there is to making the board, it can’t get much easier than that!We then covered the clothes pins with strips of scrapbook paper cut to size.  We applied them with Mod Podge and then we inked the edges and applied another coat of Mod Podge to the top of them to give them a nice shiny coat.I put this fun Halloween paper behind my frame and added a few embellishments to the clothes pins.  Of course I tied a few ribbons to the wires just because I could! :) I added a few flowers and a spider to my clothes pins and I printed off a few vintage Halloween postcards.  If you would like to print off some vintage postcards go here! I love this darling pictures of some of the grand kids because this was when we only had 4 grand children and they were so little back then! What fun memories.

After Halloween, I will simply take the paper off the back and put a Thanksgiving or Christmas paper on and use the different clothes pins.  You could also just put a neutral color behind it and not change it out, a black polka dot would be cute! :)

These would make great gifts for the upcoming Holidays, Christmas, birthdays, or just  a “I’m Thinking of You Today” gift.  Or heck, you could just make one for yourself!  What a novel idea!
Here is a close-up of the Haunted House.  This is from the Wood Connection ( of course)  I love the bat that we put with it because it just seems to top it off! This makes a fun little Halloween display!  Thanks to all of my crafting friends from our retreat,  for their so cute ideas!

Happy Tuesday Everyone,  Love Ya!
