August 2020 Ministering Handout

Today I have the August 2020 Ministering Handout! How is everyone doing about now?  The pandemic continues to roll on and we are all trying to find our new normal.  As much as I don’t like that…it is what it is and we need to all try to do our best.

This month is the start of the new school year for a lot of us here in the US.  Some schools are delaying their start while others are trying new things to help all of our students get back to learning and adjusting to all the things.  My mind always goes to learning when school starts up again and so that is the theme for this months handout.

There is a talk given by Thomas S. Monson clear back in 1988, titled-

“Hallmarks of a Happy Home”

Just click on the link if you would like to read his talk.  One of the hallmarks of a happy home is “a library of learning”.    I totally agree with this and I find it fun to be learning new things all of the time!  The scripture that I used, is from this talk. Here is the message card.  It is formatted to a 4 x 6 size.  Simply print your own or send it out to your favorite photo processing center.

For those of you that would like to print as a jpeg image, right click over the image.  Then go to “save image as”, and save in a folder.   Print from there.

As always…please remember these images are for personal use only…they are not for resale!
Here is the blank card for those of you that would like to translate.  Or if you are in need of a cute card, note, or handout then this is just what you need!

During this pandemic, I decided that I would like to learn how to do hand lettering, doodling, and some water coloring.  I have taken several online courses from

Lindsay Ostrom-Creator of Cuteness

and I have thoroughly enjoyed each one of them!  If any of you want to try your hand at this, click on her link and check them out.  I follow her on facebook.  She does a live segment 5 days a week and they have become my newest obsession!  :)

Why I am telling you all of this, is because I have included one of my drawings for the handout  that I used to go along with this card.  It is not perfect, but then hand lettering is not supposed to be perfect…it is drawn by hand.  But all of this arrangement was inspired by Lindsay Ostrom!

Don’t you love this thought?….Never. Stop. Learning.
Included  are a color and a black and white copy of this.  They are all in the PDF files.  It would be fun for a coloring page.  Or you could frame it, or make it into a fridge magnet.  There are many possibilities that you could do.

These 1/2 composition books can be found at Wal-mart!  I think that they are so cute!  I covered it with black paper, then added the image to the top.  Add a cute ribbon to match and it is done! This is what the composition books look like.  If you cannot find them, you could use the regular one.  I just thought these were so cute!

For those of you that would like the PDF download, simply click on the link(s) below:

  1. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful talents and creations with us. I love your ideas and designs! I am so not creative, talented in art, or thoughtful, but I wanted to give a message or something to the sisters that I minister to. I would think, think, think, and never come up with anything, and if I did a scripture or find a thought, I just could not pull it together into something that made sense and be nice. You are an answer to my prayers! You share a wonderful thought in a beautiful way and give me a creative idea and design that allows me to put something together for my sisters. I read your thoughts and think what can I put with it and never come up with anything, I love the fact that you give me an idea of what to do with the thought. Your the best! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
    My ladies love them too!
