My husband and I went on our annual trip to Arizona! We were gone about 10 days and we had a great time. We have been making this trip for about 7 or 8 years now! We go down for baseball Spring Training, (or at least that is what my husband goes for!) I go for the wonderfully warm weather and to just get away from it all!
We stopped in Las Vegas on the way down for two nights. We were able to see two Cirque du Soleil shows, we saw the Beatles, “LOVE” show and we also saw Zarkana. This was the second time that we have seen the Beatles show and there just is not another one that is as good as that one! Of course we love the music, so that makes a big difference! The Zarkana show probably had more acrobatic stunts and so it was exciting to watch that show also.
This is a picture of the strip after the Beatles show. It really is beautiful with all the lights. I am not so much for the glamour, but it is fun for a short visit! We then drove down to Sun City, Arizona, where we stayed for 5 days.
This is what I love!
I can wear sandals and/or go barefoot! Pure Heaven! We went to 5 different baseball games and I just basked in the warm weather!
I did a lot of shopping…of course! This is some of the stuff from the quilt shops that I visited! I really felt like I did a little better this year, in the fact that I only bought 2 quilt patterns! I got several dishtowels to make and even a book of patterns to embroider some red work dishtowels that remind me so much of days gone by! :) I also got a pattern for the most darling fabric bunnies, I am hoping to get them done before Easter! So hopefully that post will be coming in the next week or two! I will show the finished projects as I get them done!
My husband was also so sweet to take me shopping at several malls and strip malls. One of my most favorite stores to shop at is “The Container Store” in Las Vegas. We do not have one of these in Utah, but I was informed that one is coming! It will not be for another year or so, but I am so excited…that store is total eye candy for me!
We drove out to the new Gilbert LDS temple. It is beautiful and they always keep the grounds so pristine and gorgeous! I love the cascading waterfall here!
We attended a fun theater play house in Mesa. We saw the production of “South Pacific”. The talent is a bit amateur, but it was still fun because of the story line and all of the great songs in that show. We went to “Kiss Me Kate” another night at a different play house and the talent was much more professional, but the story line was horrible, at least neither my husband or I liked it! So that was our experience with the plays this year, one good and one not so good!
Then this dear sweet husband of mine got tickets for us to go see Tim McGraw and Faith Hill in Vegas on the way back home! I was so excited… and I loved their concert! It was truly the best way to end our little trip!
Thanks honey, you are the BEST!
So that is a wrap-up of our little trip to Arizona for this year. Sometimes I am jealous of those that live there because of the beautiful weather, but then in the dead of summer, I would not like it, so I guess I had better be happy that I get to enjoy all 4 seasons here in Utah and they truly are all beautiful!
When I got home, my tulips were all up and getting ready to bloom, my crocuses are blooming and my magnolia bush is just about to burst out in blossoms, so see… spring is coming to Utah!
Which makes me happy! :)
Thank you for sharing your pics from your trip. Maybe warm weather will come to Utah this year too.
We can always hope! We have had a couple of nice days, but it is supposed to rain and/or snow tomorrow! But then that really is what spring is all about in Utah. But luckily, we will get warmer weather eventually! :) Then we will all start complaining that it is too hot, right?
What a fun trip! I’m glad you were able to get away and enjoy the nice weather. The grandkids are overjoyed that you are home though! And woo hoo for the Container Store! We will have to become regulars once it gets here. :)
AnneMarie, thanks for your sweet comment. We had a great time, but we missed the grandkids and we are glad to be back. As for the Container store, count me in as one of the regulars! We will have to make some fun trips up there!
