We had a fun little craft retreat at our cabin this last weekend. It was kind of fun because I had my sister bring a friend, and my friend brought her sister and I brought another friend. So we all had someone we knew and then we got to make new friends! It was great. Each group was supposed to bring a craft for everyone else to make. We did not put any restrictions on what we would do, we just put a $10 limit on each project. It was so much fun to see what everyone came up with. I decided that since I was hosting that perhaps I should do two crafts, well guess what… so did every one else! So instead of 3 projects, we made 6. Oh what fun we had!
We crafted, ate, went shopping, ate some more, giggled, fed the deer, crafted some more, stayed up late talking, ate again, fed the deer again and crafted some more, then went shopping again on the way home!
Here is my fun little group with one of our projects: How fun is this for Halloween? (a tutorial is coming!)
I don’t know about you, but when I make something, I make a BIG mess! This was our work room. We were spread out over 3 tables and the floor. And we would have to clear off the tables and start all over when we started the next project! Here is everyone hard at work. This is my best friend, Kathy, from Junior High School! We have had so many fun times through the years and I cherish our friendship! All the girls loved seeing the deer and feeding them a little treat. We had a couple of small bucks…Lots of does…And some darling fawns! We have 3 different sets of twin fawns that visit us every time we go to the cabin and it has been so fun to see them get a little bit bigger every week! They would almost come running every time they would hear the cabin door open and close and they got real friendly with us! The girls thought that it was wild that they could be this close to some wildlife!
Here is a sampling of all the projects that we got done. I said sampling, because two of them had to leave early, so we do not have their stuff in this picture! I will have close ups and tutorials coming in the very near future, so stay tuned! We did lots of Halloween, because who doesn’t love Halloween? We did a few everyday projects and then we did the Christmas wreaths! So we got a little of everything!
My thanks goes to all of my friends, both old and new, for such a fun weekend of crafting, making new friends, eating, and enjoying the beauties of nature!
