Ribbon Storage Closet

I promised that I would show you my ribbon closet someday, and now that someday is here!  I have a fetish for ribbon and when I owned a scrapbook store we had a great selection of ribbons and I was always adding to it.  When I closed the store down, I brought home about 1/4 of the bolts of ribbons.  We sold all the rest, but I still came home with 2 racks of ribbon!  I told you I have a fetish!  Most of this is what I came home with. Then I added to this collection with a lot of ribbons from Costco.  They come on these big rolls, so I put them on spring curtain rods.  I added the shelf to work on.  I know that it is not fancy, but it does the job! I have the shelf in the corner for future ribbons!  You wouldn’t want me to run out of ribbon now would you?In the other corner of this shelf, I added shorter spring rods going up and down with all of my bolts of tulle.  If I keep them pinned, they will not come undone when I pull on one of the bolts. This is on a shelf on the opposite side of my ribbon closet.  I just put all of my curling ribbon in this big plastic bin.  They do not seem to get tangled up, so I have not pinned any of these.  They are just loose in the bin so I can take out just the colors I need. This is what my whole ribbon closet looks like.  I love it and I use it all of the time! This ribbon closet is in one of my kids old bedroom.  (They are all married and gone now, so I get to do whatever I want with all their bedrooms!)  I refinished two old dressers and have them in this room and they make great storage for my wrapping paper!I use the top drawer for my tissue paper, one drawer for Christmas paper and another drawer for birthday and other wrapping paper!  It all fits perfectly.  In the other dresser, I have all my gift bags in the drawers. So there you have it, now you know what a ribbon nut I am! :)

So how do you store all your ribbon and gift wraps?

    1. Thank You. I know that I am so lucky to have extra spare bedrooms right now in my house, and I love finding fun uses for them. I forgot to tell everyone that you can also line up bolts of ribbon in a dresser drawer and that works too along with the gift wraps!

  1. I am very envious of your ribbon collection! I wish I could say I was as organised as you…my stuff is all locked away in a suitcase!

I just want to invite you to join in with my weekly Say G’day Linky Party which started on the weekend. I would be so thrilled if you could join in and link up this wonderful post!

Best wishes for a fabulous week!

  2. Hi, my name is Robin. I am a ribbon addict. :) I have eight plastic lidded storage containers that I have my ribbon in. The benefit to doing it this way is that I can group them – six of my bins are for Christmas because they have those darned sales after Christmas and I can’t help it, I have to buy more ribbon. Wrapping paper is really a problem. Currently I have one of those huge plastic wheeled trash bins but it’s too big to move around and the paper isn’t visible in it so it really doesn’t work well. If I ever figure out a perfect way of storing wrapping paper, I’ll make a fortune because no one has come up with it yet!

Thanks for the post – there’s a lot of good information here! :)

    1. Thank you for your comment, I love to hear from my readers! I do love to wrap gifts, but I use ribbons on so many of my projects that my “closet” gets used all the time!

  3. Hi,

I followed you over from Mix it up Monday and this looks amazing! This is EXACTLY what I need to clean up all my wrapping paper and ribbons that have taken over the hall closet. Thanks for sharing.

I would love to invite you to share this, and any other posts you would like to, at my Creative Thursday Link Party at http://www.michellestastycreations.blogspot.com.

    Have a great day,
    Michelle
