Courtship Quilt

Today I have my Courtship Quilt all done and ready to show you!Don’t you love the colors in this quilt?

My husband told me that this was his favorite quilt thus far…because of the colors!  Stars in the middle of this quilt are my most favorite part!

By adding some extra borders, you can make this quilt into a king bedspread!

A row of half square triangles was added to each side to make it big enough for a bedspread.

Which, by the way, this is the largest quilt I have made and quilted! Love the fabric with the numbers and writing on them.

This fabric line is called Eclectic Elements by Tim Holtz who has a beautiful antique style!

The Courtship Quilt pattern is from Missouri Star Quilt Co.

There is also an excellent online tutorial, showing how to make this quilt. You will have enough half square triangles left over that you can make a pillow to match and also a quilt label! It is important to document your quilts.

This was reinforced to me at the Missouri Star Quilt Co. Trunk Show when Jenny came to Utah!

To make this label, simply sew 4 half square triangles together with the white to the middle, so you can write on that part.

Most of us do not love our handwriting, but it is very much a part of each of us.

How many of you would love to have one of your mother’s handwritten notes?

My hope is to  make a label for every quilt going forward!

Now all I need to do is find a couple of pillow shams and finish the pieced pillow to complete my bedroom ensemble.

My headboard and foot board have been refinished and are all ready to put together!

So this is my Courtship Quilt.

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you have a wonderful day!

  1. That is beautiful!! I was also inspired by Jenny Doan’s show and the importance of labeling our quilts, from now on mine will all get a label.
How long did that take you to make?

I don’t have near the patience that you do. I’m beginning to suspect that quilting is your passion.
