You Are “Toad”ally Awesome!

One of the two grandkids that I tend is a three year old, so I have been trying to work with him a little bit on learning his numbers and alphabets.  I decided that my back door was a great medium to use as a teaching tool!  I can use it as a big magnet board and what kid doesn’t  love to play with magnets?  I decided that we would make it fun with the toads and the “You are “Toad”ally Awesome” saying for positive reinforcement!  I love that it is at my back door and all of the grandkids have had a little bit of fun with it and they read that saying every time they leave my house! :)

Here is a close up of the toads!

To make these I printed 5 of each toad.  Then I cut out each part (body, head, eyes, pupils, etc) separately and added pop-up foam squares between each layer to make them 3-dimensional like this:

I printed out the numbers on circles, so that my grandson can start to recognize the difference.  He can say his numbers, but he needs to learn to recognize all of them!  By putting magnets on the back, he can move the numbers around and put them in order or pick out separate numbers!

If you would like to print out your own Toadally Awesome door here are the printables:

To print, right click and go to “save image as”, then save in a folder.  You could also right click and go to “copy image” then paste into your favorite word processing or presentations program.  These are formatted to 8.5 x 11, so you can just print them yourself if you choose to do so.  I printed mine on cardstock weight paper so that they would be a little more sturdy.

I cut the vinyl out using the Boyz R Gross font. Toadally-000-Page-1Toadally-001-Page-2

These images are from the “ I Toadally Love You” line from Just So Scrappy.

Toadally-002-Page-3This would also be a great door idea for Teacher Appreciation Week for those of you that have to do a door this year!

Instead of the numbers you could put all the children’s names that are in your child’s class.

I think that YOU are all “Toad”ally awesome!  Thanks for taking the time to be with me today!  Love Ya!
