Patriotic Fudge

I have a quick little post for you today, just in time for the big weekend!  Can you believe that the 4th of July is this week?  My oh my, where does the time go?patriotic fudgeI saw this idea on Pinterest and  I have made fudge like this before but the thing that caught my eye…was that this recipe calls for butter extract.  I have never used butter extract and so decided that I would try it out.  I know that fudge is not a diet food, but hey, if you can cut a few calories, why not try it?   Well…fudge is not a diet food, so let’s not try to make it one!  I did not like the butter extract at all and would much rather have the real thing!  As you can see, this turned out to be a very soft fudge even though I cooked it a little bit longer than the recipe said.  I am glad that I tried this recipe out and it is a very quick recipe to put together, but I think that I will stick with the good old fashioned boil on the stove fudge like this recipe! (If you want white fudge, just substitute the white chocolate chips for the chocolate ones.)

Of course you could change up the colors of M & M’s for any holiday and it would be an easy fun treat any time!  I think that I will try it sometime with 2 teaspoons of butter rather than the extract.

Are you ready for the big holiday?  Do you have a big family get together, a party with friends or do you celebrate with the crowds?  Whatever you do… I hope that you will have a great and a safe one!

We get together with some of our family and we have a fun water party and games that the kids love…because I usually have prizes!  They have already been asking if we are getting the water slide out and what we are doing!  So I guess that I had better get planning, quick, because it is coming up faster than I am ready for!

Have a great Monday everyone!  Thanks for Visiting!

  1. I think you are amazing for the inspirational messages and downloads you offer, free at that. I recently have been called to RS secretary and have been going over web sites for good idea’s. Most all the sites offer many downloads at a price.
I believe sharing is one of the greatest gifts we can give of ourselves. Not only do you share at no cost but your downloads are top rated in my book. “Thank you so very much, keep up the good work!”
