Pippi Longstocking Book

When I was at World Market a few weeks ago I found this darling Pippi Longstocking Book!  It brought back many wonderful childhood memories!  I remember loving this book as a child and now I’ve found this darling chalkboard version on the cover!Pippi Longstocking bookHow many of you read this book as a child?  As soon as I read the back cover of this book, I knew that I needed to buy it!pippi longstocking book backDoes this bring back memories or what??  On the inside flap, it also tells how “Pippi Longstocking has no parents to tell her what to do, a horse that lives on the porch, and flair for fun that always leads to adventure.  Her neighbors Tommy and Annika are in for a world of excitement now that Pippi has moved to town!”

This book has a few pictures in it that are also so delightful and bring back a flood of memories!pippi Longstocking bookDo you remember this picture of Pippi making pancakes!

I have two of my grandchildren that I tend on a regular basis and so we started reading this book together.  I have to explain to the 6 year old that this book is not true!!  You cannot have a horse live on the porch…for one thing!  :)  But it is a silly, fun, read for the kids.  We take turns reading while we sit out here on the porch:Pippi Longstocking bookI think it is going to be fun to read the Pippi Longstocking book all together!  We can sit out here on the porch in the summer and take turns reading and making some delightful memories!pippi Longstocking bookDo you have any other books that you have read with your children or grandchildren?  I would really LOVE to hear what your favorite childhood books are!

  1. Rita…..I’m so impressed with your porch make-over. Everything you do is wonderful. I have a question….How do you hand things on your brick wall? I have a lovely porch that I’d love to hang clocks and pictures on, but hesitate to put a screw or nail into the brick. Suggestions???

Thanks for sharing all you do. Your lovely VT handouts are in all of my sister’s homes. They think I’m so talented. I let them know that it is your work and not mine. THANKS…
