Skeleton Quilt

Happy Friday everyone!

I hope that you are looking forward to the weekend as much I am!  I have a lot going on  this weekend…and I will share it with you next week!

Caution!  Skeleton Crossing

Here is a fun quilt that is simply a printed panel with a border sewn around the edge!  I love the skeleton, it is perfect for this Halloween season.

A little bit spooky and a little bit cute!

skeleton quiltThis quilt was a very simple one to make.  I simply trimmed the skeleton panel and sewed the orange print around the edges.  I machine quilted this with a black minky and sewed a black fabric binding.  I literally made this in a couple of days!skeleton quiltThis print is a fun one.  I bought this panel at a little fabric store called Broadbents.  They had a quilt made up and hanging in the window.  The lady that made it has had several broken bones and so she is stitching the name of the bone and the date that she broke that bone!  What a cute idea.

I just hope that I never have to add a date to my quilt!  :)DSC_1002Here is the full quilt (with a little photo bomber!)skeleton quilt-photo bombersAnd another photo bomber!  They just could not resist!skeleton quiltThis is where my quilt now resides…but I keep moving it around to different places.  I would really like to put it out on a bench in my front courtyard,  but it is not in a covered area and I know the weather will fade it really fast.  So for now, it will find it’s home in the living room.

I will leave you today with this little poem by Shirley T:

Skeleton Talk

One skeleton said to the other, “I have a bone to pick with you!” And the old one said, “Not now. My joints go out more than I do!”  . . . and they laughed humerously.

Thanks for visiting today!

  1. What a cute quilt! Looks great in your living room…and cute skeleton talk…thanks for sharing….you are always so ambitious!

    1. Roswitha, thank you again for you sweet comment! I love hearing from you and thank you for your support! Hope you have a great day!

  2. How would you make a quilt like that if you didn’t have a quilt machine? It’s darling – but it looks like you must have a Quilter? I’m envious – that’s all! DARLING!

    1. Sharron, I am very lucky, because a couple of years ago I bought a used HQ 16 long arm quilting machine. I love it and I love learning how to quilt, I am not very good at it yet, but it has been a fun thing for me to learn how to do! :)
