January 2015 Visiting Teaching Handout

Today I have the first visiting teaching handout for 2015!  Can you believe that it is 2015!!  I am still trying to get myself back into a schedule and get organized for the new year, how about you?

This month the message for visiting teaching from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, is:  The Attributes of Jesus Christ: Obedient Son.

There are a couple of different quotes in this message and both of them are excellent…but I chose the one from D. Todd Christofferson…”As we walk in obedience to the principles and commandments of the gospel of Jesus Christ…”    I love the part, “Obedience gives us greater control over our lives, greater capacity to come and go, to work and create.”  It is true that the more obedient we are the more control we have in our lives.

Here are the printable cards:Jan-2015-VTThis is a blank card for those of you that would like to translate…or if  you need a blank card for some other reason, you now have one!  :)

Jan-2015-VT-blankIf you want to print these as a jpeg, just right click over the image and go to “save image as” then save in a folder.  You can now print it or send it out to your favorite photo processing center.  These cards are formatted to a 4 x 6 size.

Here is the pdf download:  Jan 2015 VT

This would be really cute to put with a hot chocolate packet, or you could add the “Kiss 2014 Goodbye” lip gloss.  Or of course you can just print the card and put a magnet on the back for a reminder that they can put on their fridge or magnet board!kiss 2014 goodbyeBut just always remember that the visit is the most important thing, not the handout!

Thanks for visiting today.

Happy Visiting your sisters this month!

The images for these cards are from Just So Scrappy and Crazy 4 Monograms.  They are from the “Chillin” category.

  3. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talents and creativity. I have a hard time not reading the message to my sisters and this is such a great way to get the main message to them in a way that they will remember. I still study the entire message but is gives them a reminder for the entire month of where their focus should be that month.
I used them last month for the first time and they were very well received. I love your spirit and ideas.

  4. Thank you so much for doing these handouts. We got frames for each of our sisters and then take them the handout each month so they can change it with the new message. They all love it and so do I. Thanks for sharing your talents with the rest of us.

    1. Ruth Ann, thank you for sharing your idea with us! I love that your sisters can just change out their frame and be reminded of what the message is each month! That is a great idea!

I can’t add a direct link to a blog (per my priesthood leaders) but I made sure your blog named showed and told them to go to your blog to download if they would like copies for their sisters. I hope this is ok. Let me know if this is not OK with you. Thanks, Doreen

  7. Thank you. You are awesome. I use your ideas every month for my sisters that I visit. They always appreciate them as a reminder every day. One sister has hers posted on her bathroom mirror so she can read them every morning. Thank you again.

  8. Thank you for making these beautiful handout!. I was wondering if it would be possible to have an option to have the printed message on both of the cards? I visit two sisters and I write out your message on the blank card, so that I don’t have to waste ink by printing another sheet. I like the idea of buying a frame for each sister for them to display their monthly message.

    1. Annette, You can just copy and paste the written one so that you have two. That way you do not need to hand write the message.

The latest (January) is gorgeous as always. However living in the southern hemisphere Frosty doesn’t seem really quite right when we are in the middle of summer! :)
