Oct 2013 Visiting Teaching Handout

Here is the visiting teaching handout for this month for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

This month they are starting a new series on the visiting teaching message: “This is the first in a series of Visiting Teaching Messages featuring aspects of the mission of the Savior.”

The Divine Mission of Jesus Christ: Creator

This month the aspect that is being taught is that Jesus Christ is the Creator.  I chose to feature the quote by President Utchdorf; “We are the Reason He Created the Universe!  I love this thought and I hope that we can all remember this in times of trial and sorrow.

I found these darling pretzel bags at my local party store and knew right away that I would make dipped pretzels to give with my handout for this month.  But with it being Halloween this month, there are tons of darling Halloween treats out there that you could make if you want to do something different!

Dipped PretzelsThese Dipped pretzels are as easy as 1,2 3!  You simply dip pretzel rods in caramel and drain off excess.  Lay out on parchment paper to dry.  2. Dip in your choice of chocolate.  (I used a glass drinking cup to melt my chocolate in because it is tall and skinny)  3. Sprinkle with your favorite toppings or sprinkles!  That is all there it to it!

But of course remember that the visit is the most important part, not what you take!

Happy Visiting Everyone!  Love Ya!

If you have not had a chance to check out the new Halloween printables in my shop, I would love to have you take a look, there is a complete party pack and and fun new Halloween banner, together, you have everything that you would need for that perfect Halloween get together!

  1. I simply adore your style and handouts. Do you think in the next couple of days, you could make a cute tag I could use with your s’more recipe to give my grandkids for General Conference. I would love to say something like “Can’t wait to hear S’more from our prophets”. You could add it to your store as I would love to purchase it.

  2. I really enjoy your handouts, thank you for your beautiful projects! Your layouts are amazing! I also appreciate the blank cards that we use at church all the time. Bless you for sharing your talents with us!! :)

  3. Just thank you!!! I LOVE your handouts and I count on them every month to give a concise and beautiful message to my sisters.

  4. Thank you for designing another lovely VT handout. I so appreciate you making them available right at the first of the month. I am trying to be a better visiting teacher but my hectic schedule makes it hard. Your handouts and ideas have saved me time and enabled me to get my visits in the first few days of each month.

The halloween can’s were a hit.

  6. Thank you so much for sharing…my visiting teachers have been coming to me for two years now leaving your beautiful messages. They go up on my fridge where I can see them every day. Some days they are the little prayer of the day and often I am able to share with those I work with at my job. I asked my visiting teacher where she gets these adorable cards from and she told me where to look. These have inspired me so many countless times, that I thought I’d like to do the same for our sisters we teach. One of our sisters is inactive who I’ve been friends with for seven years and I’m hoping she’ll put them on her fridge as I have done when my teachers leave them for me. My husband is my friends home teacher too and trying hard to get them reactivated. They have lifted me up and I know they will for her too. Thanks again…Carol

    1. Carol,
Thank you so much for that lovely comment! I really makes my day when I hear these kinds of stories. I am so glad that someone can use one of my ideas and that you are passing them along to others! You are a great example to me and I appreciate your sharing a little bit about yourself and the sisters that you visit and the sisters that visit you. Happy visiting!

  7. I just printed this out for my ladies and made an orange popcorn ball treat to go with it. Thanks so much for this. It really makes the message just that much more special.

    1. What a fun idea! Thanks for sharing and thanks for you kind message and for taking the time to comment. I appreciate both! Hope you have a great day.
      HAPPY VISITING!

  8. Thank you for sharing this printable. I am not sure how to print it to make it a 4×6. I keep coming up with an 8 1/2×11. Would mind telling me how to do it? I didn’t see a link. Thank you very much. Nicole

    1. Nicole, when you print it, make sure that the printer and the paper is set to 4 x 6 paper, or you can click on the image and then grab one of the corners and size it to the size that you want. If you right click over the image and go to “save image as” then save it in a folder, it will also be sized to the 4 x 6 format. I hope that this helps.

  9. Thank You so much for the visiting teaching handout! I love it and I know that the sisters I visit will too! Thank you for sharing your talents!
