Give Thanks Projects

Today I have some of the projects from our craft retreat earlier this fall.  We did some fun projects and these are the ones that were done for Autumn and Thanksgiving.  I have tons of decorations for Halloween and not so many for Thanksgiving, so I was glad to be able to make these that are for the Thanksgiving season.  I think that sometimes we just overlook Thanksgiving and our minds just go straight to Christmas.  I know I tend to do that, but I love that fact that we have a holiday to show our Thanks!  We all need to look around us at all the blessings that we have and stop and acknowledge them!  So, here are a couple of projects that will help you to remember to “Give Thanks!”

Stitched Christmas Quilt Blocks (WIP)

I have so many projects going on right now that I am driving myself crazy!  I tend to do this every year in the fall, I get the bug to start sewing, crafting, reading, baking, canning and organizing!   I just need to pace myself and finish one project before I start the next one!  Do any of you do that too, or am I the only crazy one???

I am working on 4 different quilts right now with the patterns and fabric for several more!  I bought my quilting machine a few months ago and now I think that I have to use it all the time… it just keeps calling my name…but I love learning how to use it!

This quilt that I am trying to get finished up this week, my WIP (Work in Progress), is from Bird Brain Designs and the name of the pattern is Snowmen & Reindeer Bluework Quilt.  I got this pattern last spring when we were in Arizona on our little annual vacation.  I am doing it all as a redwork so that it will match my other Christmas quilts that I have already made.

I have been working on these block since last spring and I have all but one of the blocks completely stitched and I am hoping to get the last one done this weekend!

Fun Thanksgiving Printables and Games

Today I have a round-up of a few FUN Thanksgiving printables.

This first printable is for Thanksgiving Place cards and you can print them here.

There are 4 different ones to choose from or you can do a variety of all of them!  These are just a fold-over, so you just need to print, cut, fold in half and write names, or you could have everyone write one blessing, and have everyone guess who wrote what blessing!   So easy! Continue reading

Thanksgiving Placecards

Today I have some cute little name cards for you to print out for Thanksgiving.  All you have to do is print them, cut them out, fold in half, and write names on them.  What could be easier?  It is amazing how such a little thing like this can dress up your Thanksgiving table and make people think that you really went to a lot of work! (No one has to know!)

There are two sheets, 4 on each page, (8 total).  If you need more than that, just print duplicate pages.  To print, just right click on the image, then go to copy. Open your favorite program like word, and right click again and go to paste.  They are in 81/2 x 11 format so you can just print them from your printer!

They would be fun to pair up with a treat or some nuts.  There are all kinds of fun ideas on pinterest, follow my Fall/Autumn link if you need some other ideas!

A couple more  ideas that you could do with these printables: is to use them for a napkin ring. just cut off at the fold and wrap them around your napkins, or just use the top part for a tag to tie on a treat bag, or the top of a jar with goodies in it!  You could also use this just the way it is as a fold-over topper and staple it to the top of a small clear bag.

Oh the possibilities!
