Going Green

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of White Cloud for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I don’t know about you, but I always feel better when I am doing things to help others and doing things to help out the environment.  There are a lot of little things that we can do, we can recycle paper, aluminum and plastic products, we can turn off the lights as we leave a room or we can look for eco-friendly products to use in our homes.

One of the things that I have done to help out the enviroment is to make my own DIY Fabric Softner. This is a great recipe to use in doing your laundry!  There are only 3 ingredients so it is easy and inexpensive to do.

Another fun project that I have just done recently with my grandkids is to recycle boxes to make darling books. The kids all love them! Check out how to make your own here.

Tulip Time

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of iBulb for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I love this time of year because the tulips are just starting to peek above the ground.

I have a very special place in my heart for these beautiful flowers because I have a son that lived in the Netherlands for two years and he talked of the magnificent tulip fields!  My husband and I also visited The Netherlands and one of the things that we remembered the most was the seemingly endless fields of multicolored tulips with the picturesque windmills in the background.  It was so gorgeous and such a breathtaking view!

Because of that experience, I have several bunches of tulips planted in my yard and I love when they start peeking through the snow, because I know that spring is on the way!

I  love cut tulips and I bought this great little bunch at a local store to brighten up my kitchen.  Aren’t they beautiful with the white tips!  It just really brightens my day and makes me happy to see these when I work in my kitchen!

Leggings and Tights

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of No nonsense for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I recieved a pair of brown cordoroy leggings and a pair of black lace tights from “No nonsense” to try out.  I  was very excited to experiment with different outfits to wear them with!

I have tried other leggings and I have to say that I loved these “No nonsense” ones because they are so stretchy and comfortable and they were long enough for my tall torso.  I loved how adding a fun denim skirt to the brown cordoroy leggings made a fun, young look!   Of course they are perfect to wear in the winter with your favorite pair of boots.  This was a really fun outfit to put together and the leggings make a totally fun look!

Home for the Holidays

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Mrs. Smith’s for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

What are some of your favorite holiday traditions?  One of my fondest memories when I was younger was making pies with my mom.  We would make dozens of pies and freeze them for the holidays.  Then when we needed a dessert  we knew that we always had one that was ready to go!  Well, times have changed and I don’t make dozens of pies anymore, but I do always try to have one or two in the freezer, so that when I need a dessert I will have one that is ready to go!

Breakfast In a Bar

This post brought to you by Quaker Oats. All opinions are 100% mine.

Have you tried the NEW Quaker Soft Baked Bars?  I had the opportunity to try these and I have to admit that they are pretty darn good!  But they aren’t just tasty, the thing that I liked even better is that they are great for you.  They only have 140 calories but 5 grams of fiber!  They also are a good source of protein and 5- B vitamins.  They come in two flavors: Cinnamon  Pecan Bread and Banana Nut Bread.wholesome food  Quaker Soft Baked Bar

I tried the Cinnamon Pecan Bread and I know of a couple of my grandkids that are going to love these and I will feel good about giving them one!  I warmed it up in the microwave  for 10 seconds and it was soft and warm just like a real cinnamon roll coming out of the oven!
