Happy Friday Everyone! Are you all ready for another weekend?!!
Today I have a super delicious cake that is made from scratch, so you know it is going to be good! It is moist and oh so wonderful!
I made this cake for my husband’s birthday a while back and I gave him the choice of what cake to make. Of course he picked the basic vanilla cake with not a whole lot of anything else in it! But, guess what?…It was delicious!
I mentioned when I did the Visiting Teaching handout that I had lemons on the brain, so today I thought I would share this fun dessert that I made last week…Sugar Cookie Lemon Tarts! It doesn’t get a whole lot better than sugar cookie tarts filled with a lemon filling and topped with whipped cream! I have a couple of other recipes that I want to try out this next week…there is just something about lemons that are so refreshing in the hot summer months! I love the tartness of lemons along with a bit of sweet, it is just very refreshing!

My neighbor gave me some fresh blackberries from her garden, so I decided to try making a Blackberry Nectarine Cobbler! It was so delicious! I loved the tartness of the fruit with the sweetness of the crumble topping and the creamy whipped cream…Pure Heaven!

I had a Relief Society activity last week and we served fruit pizza. They were so yummy and they looked so beautiful! There were extra cookies and frosting…so I volunteered to take the plain cookies home. (I know…that was nice of me…right, hey, everyone else took the fruit cookies home!) I froze the cookies and the frosting and saved them for our Sunday dinner!

My husband and I used to go to Marie Calendar’s when there was one near our home and I would ALWAYS order a slice of sour cream lemon pie for dessert. But since there are not any MC restaurants nearby anymore…I decided that I would try to make a copy of that pie that I loved so much!

I hope that everyone had a great Mother’s Day weekend! We had rain ALL day on Saturday, (which we need, so it was great!) it was a perfect day to stay inside and work on some of my sewing projects! Then the sun came out on Sunday and it was a beautiful day!

I used to make these brownies a lot when my kids were younger and I have not made them for years now…but I thought that they would be a great treat for my “Sugar Sunday”. (I am trying to only eat sugar one day a week and it is on Sunday, so my friend and I have started calling it “Sugar Sunday!)
I made these cupcakes when we celebrated our March birthdays and I have to say that they were quite delicious! They are so refreshing with the tart lemon flavor and sweet with the blueberries…a perfect combination. They are what spring should taste like! I combined a couple of recipes to come up with this one and I think that I will have to save this recipe because my mouth is already watering for more of these just from
writing this post!
