Sewing Room Makeover Ideas

Today I am finally showing you some of my sewing room makeover ideas!  It has been a fun project to do with my granddaughter and we have enjoyed seeing it all come together!  But we would get part of it done and cleaned and organized and then we would make pillows, pillows and more pillows...so we would have to clean up that mess and then I quilted my Americana quilt in between times and had to clean that all up!  This room definitely gets used!sewing room makeover Continue reading

DIY Back Door Make-Over

Our house is almost 19 years old now and it is time to start doing a few make-overs.  I have put it off for as long as I can, but now I have got to get busy and start doing a few renovations.  I love the fresh new look of this make-over…and this is one of the easiest make-overs that you can do!back door makeover Continue reading

Yard Sale Chairs for the Cabin

A week ago my husband and I were coming back from our property in Upton, Utah and I saw a “Home Goods Sale” sign.  We were after the hours listed on this sale, but there was no date, so we decided to check it out and see if we could possibly come back the next day!  Well, the sweet lady that was holding the sale came out when we pulled in the driveway and she just opened up her sale to us!  Happy Day!  :)

I found 3 chairs, 2 wall lamps for the cabin, and a wonderful metal tub to plant flowers in!  My son came up the next morning and he got a beautiful game table, a lamp, a wall light and a gorgeous metal bowl.

These are the chairs that I found:Yard Sale Chairs Continue reading

Give Thanks Pillows

I have one last project for Thanksgiving before moving on to Christmas.  But, this project is one of those “oops” projects!  Last weekend my husband and I went to our cabin for a few days, my husband went hunting on our family property while I worked on projects at the cabin.  I got a lot of things accomplished and I was feeling pretty good about myself, until I got home and discovered a mistake in the pillows that I had made!Give Thanks Pillows Continue reading

Rustic Picture Frame

Medical update: I am getting a little bit stronger every day.  I think the thing that fooled me the most was how weak I am and how little energy I have!  I guess that is from the blood loss. I feel like my arm is getting a little bit stronger every day and my incision is healing well.  The good news is that the numbness is slowly leaving…the bad news…I can now feel it!  I still have my super glue on the top of the incision, but the bruising is almost gone.  (My arm just looks a little bit dirty where the bruising is!)  I can now start lifting 10 pounds, but I cannot yet rotate my arm outwards all the way.  But all in all, I would say that I am doing super!

So, I still cannot do very many projects, but I would like to share one with you that I picked up at a little boutique during our town celebration:

Cherry Table Quilt

I have a fun little table quilt that I have been working on for the last year!  One of my girlfriend’s gave me the pattern and we have both been working on them together, it is so fun to have a friend that likes to do what you do!  I guess that is why we are best friends! :)

Strawberry Tablecloth

I have been tending grandkids for 9 straight days and I am totally worn out!  I guess that is why you have your children when you are young, so that you can kind of keep up with them!  :)  They have been really good kids, but I am exhausted.  We went to the park, had picnics, went to our cabin overnight, had our Easter party, went to another Easter party, learned how to do a rainbow loom…made lots of bracelets, went shopping, went to church and I carpooled kids from school!   Oh and we also watched after 3 birds!  I forgot how much time and ENERGY it takes to keep up with little kids!  So my praise goes out to all of you that are raising small children…keep up the great job!

Needless to say, I have not done many projects this last week, but I do have one very simple sewing project for you today:
