July 4th Bingo Game

Last weekend on the way to our cabin, my husband stopped at World Market to let me look around for awhile.  I love that store!  I saw a really cool Bingo Game and it was a vintage one with a cage wheel and everything.  I debated about getting it for our 4th of July party, but in the end I decided just to make a game instead and use the money to buy prizes for the winners!  I’m crazy I know.  I really don’t know what got into me… but lucky for you, because now you can play bingo on the 4th of July  with your family and friends too!

Let Freedom Ring

Here is a printable just in time for your patriotic decorating.  This would be great for your mantle, kitchen, a table or shelf.  I paired mine up with these stars that I made from the Wood Connection and a jar of bubble gum!  So simple yet looks cute.  I made my print into a canvas photo block, but it would look darling in an 8 x 10 frame.  It would also be fun to spray paint the frame or glitter it up a bit, etc. Continue reading

May 2012 Visiting Teaching Handout

Here is the May Visiting Teaching Handout.

The message should come from one of the conference talks of your own choosing.  So I decided that since it was the month of May that  I would put “May” we let ourselves be Blessed with the talks from Conference. (Get it?!)

I just stuck this card in a cute little potted plant that you can find anywhere right now.  But if you want to do something else with flowers, you could do sugar cookie flowers, Oreo Cookie Flowers, fresh cut flowers or paper flowers!

Here is the printable, just right click and go to copy.  Open your favorite program like Word or Presentations and right click again and go to paste.  Print and cut out.

Happy Visiting this month!

Friendship Quote

I went to the BYU  Women’s conference yesterday and went to a couple of great classes, went shopping at the bookstore and found some great finds (as in chocolate covered cinnamon bears!)   and then the night of service which was amazing!  Pics will come later.

I just want to share a great quote about friendship that I got from one of the classes:I absolutely l love this!

The last two weeks have been very busy, but rewarding!  I feel like I have been thrown into a whirlwind and now I have been spit out!  So I hope to get some good R &R this weekend and I hope that you can do the same!

Thanks to everyone for your support this week I love you all!

The Taping of Good Things Utah!

Well I made it and lived to tell about it!

This was such an awesome experience now that it is done!  I was actually very, very nervous!  My good friend, Christina went up with me to show me how everything is done.  She does a monthly segment on Good Things Utah, so I am sure that you have seen her before.  I was so glad that she went with me and showed me how everything works!  Thanks a ton Christina!  My daughter also went with us and she is such a great support.  I really appreciate her taking the time off work to go!  I have such a great support group in my family and friends. Thanks everyone!

The staff at GTU were so great to help me feel a little less nervous.  Here I am getting wired up with the microphone.

April 2012, VT Message: Love, Watch Over and Strengthen

The message for this month is a great message to teach us all how to be better visiting teachers, but for the message to give your sisters I chose to concentrate on the title, “Love, Watch Over and Strengthen”.  It is a great message for anyone and this title exemplifies what we should be doing in the church!

I included the 9 different steps to help us be better sisters on the flower petals.

To print, right click on the image and go to copy.  Open your favorite program like Word or Presentations.  Right click again and go to paste.  You can re-size to any size.  I printed mine in 4″ x 6″.  I like to print on photo paper or glossy card stock paper.

Lucky Me!

I used to decorate for all the holidays when my children were little, but since they have all grown and moved out of the house, I do not do as much but I still have to decorate a little bit for the grand kids. St. Patrick’s day is not one that I usually do too much for.  But I decided that I could decorate my repurposed tray that sits on my kitchen counter.  This is what I came up with:

I made these printables to share with you.  There is one cutsie one, and two modern ones.  You can just print them and frame it like I did here.

February Visiting Teaching-Guardians of the Hearth

The message this month is another great one.  I feel like I say that every month but this one is so important to us today.  The family is on attack so much by the world that it is sometimes hard to remember how important our role as mothers are.  I love the quote by President Hinckley where it says: ” No other work reaches so close to divinity as does the nurturing of the sons and daughters of God.”  This is so true yet we forget it so often!  We sometimes say that we are just a mom, and yet as a woman that is one of the most divine callings that we can have!  I love how Sister Barbara Thompson also states that you do not have to be a mom to nurture others, you have a responsibility to nurture all those in your family and even if you were the only living member of your family, you are still a member of God’s family.

For the handout this month I concentrated on the quote from Pres. Hinckley:Here is an idea that I did to go with this tag:Come back tomorrow and I will show you how to make Chocolate Dipped Oreo Flowers!

Recipe Book Dividers

It is January and I am still trying to do a little bit of organizing, I had this BIG stack of recipes that I had printed from different websites, pages that I had ripped out of magazines and some recipes that were handwritten by myself or given to me by a friend.  So I decided that I really needed to get them all organized, since they are recipes that I use and I was getting tired of flipping through the whole entire stack to find one recipe!  As I was looking through these recipes I noticed that some of them had been printed 3 years ago!  So I would say that it was definitely time to get my act together.  :)

I went to Costco and bought this plain white binder that you can put a page in the front of it and also in the spine.  This is the 2″ size. Continue reading
