I have some exciting news to share with you today! I am going to be showing how to make these candy jars on Good Things Utah

on Monday, Oct. 8th at 10 am. I would love for you to join me and watch the tutorial of how to put these cute little babies together!

But for all my readers, here is the tutorial for you to make an “Eye” Candy Jar like these that we made at our craft retreat. They are so easy to make and yet are so darling! The thing that I love about these jars is that you can eat the candy after the holiday is done and then fill it up again for the next holiday! Apparently they make “Peeps” for most every holiday! Something that I didn’t know because I don’t like to eat them.

I was invited to a Blogger Mixer & Networking Event at Ikea. It was so much fun to make some new blogging friends and to be able preview some of the new displays at Ikea and get a sneak peek at their new catalog! I planted a hydrangea bush last spring because I love the big balls of blossoms that they produce. I found a beautiful pink one and I have loved it all summer long. But little did I know that when the blossoms die they fade into a beautiful green and yellow color! Turquoise and Orange Maxi Dress

I made this turquoise maxi dress from this tutorial. It takes 30 minutes to make this dress…really! I changed my dress up a bit from the tutorial, in that I took the sides in under the arms to make it more fitted and I turned the edges in on the neck, sleeves and hem. You could leave all these edges raw because they will not fray, but I like the finished edges better. (I am just weird that way!) Continue reading →
