Cinnamon Chip Oatmeal Cookies

I went shopping the other day at a little specialty grocery store called, Meiers Meats & Fine Foods, in Highland, Utah.  They always have such fun little treats, cookies, breads, and cute gift ideas…as well as wonderful meats!

I picked up a bag of mini cinnamon chips and just could not wait to try them out in some cookies!  You can buy cinnamon chips at most groceries stores in the baking aisle by the chocolate chips.

I tried these out on my husband, who was skeptical at first, and then ended up loving them.  Then I tried them out on a granddaughter that thinks there in nothing better than a Snickerdoodle cookie and she also was hooked on these!

This recipe is from On Sugar Mountain and it has the addition of cornstarch, which she says will keep your cookies soft and fresh for a longer time.  I don’t know if that is true because these cookies did not last long enough to find out!  :)Cinnamon chip oatmeal cookies Continue reading

Lemon Filled Blueberry Cupcakes

I made these cupcakes when we celebrated our March birthdays and I have to say that they were quite delicious!  They are so refreshing with the tart lemon flavor and sweet with the blueberries…a perfect combination.  They are what spring should taste like!  I combined a couple of recipes to come up with this one and I think that I will have to save this recipe because my mouth is already watering for more of these just from
writing this post!Lemon Filled Blueberry Cupcakes

I hope that you all have a very happy, grateful Thanksgiving!  I decided that I would share with you my top 10 things that I am thankful for.  These are not necessarily in order…because I could put every one of these at # 1!

1. My family…especially my husband!

2.  My testimony…the gospel.

3.  My nice warm home…even more when it is cold outside.

4.  A car that works and can take me where I need to go.

5.  That my Christmas decorations are all put up!  :)

6.  Grandkids…all 10 of them!

7.  My health…especially that I have an arm that is working great!  :)

8.  The beautiful fall season that we have had!

9.  Scrapbook and craft stores.

10.  Homemade quilts.

I Hope that you can count all of your blessings and that your heart will be filled with gratitude this Thanksgiving Day!

How are you doing on your 40 day conference challenge?  I love to read first thing in the morning before anyone else is awake.  I sip on a mug of  French Cocoa and just take my time reading and marking and making notes…it is MY time!  :)

How do you like to read your conference talks?  Do you do it by yourself…with a spouse…or as a family?

Thanks for visiting today.

I am going to take a couple of days off to spend time with my loved ones, hope you get to do the same!

French Baguette Bread

One of my finds at Swiss Days this year was a baguette bread pan from the Food Nanny!  I have been making baguette bread on a cookie sheet and it works fine, but the baguette pan gives your bread the rounded bottom and it put the design of the holes on the bottom! Purely, cosmetic, but oh so fun!French Baguette Bread Continue reading
