Thursday’s Thought-Home is Where your Mom Is

I am having a few technical difficulties with my blog, but I have someone working on them along with our new look, so please be patient with me! :)

Today I thought that I would do a Mother’s Day thought, since it is coming up here shortly.  My mother has been gone for 7 years now, but I am so grateful for all the many things that she taught me and the wonderful family life that I had growing up!  I have wonderful memories of my mom helping me and teaching me so many of her different talents…sewing, cooking, quilting, and helping others. I was a very lucky girl to have a mom like her!  So this thought is in her honor!

To print this, right click over the image and go to “save image as” then save in a folder, or you can right click over the image and go to “copy image” , open your favorite program like Word or Presentations and right click again and go to “paste”.  This has been formatted to an 8 x 10 size which would be perfect for framing and giving to your favorite Mom! :)

Have a great Thursday!

Thanks for Visiting!  Love Ya!

Hogle Zoo

Last week it was Spring break for the school kids here.  My daughter had to work everyday, but did a little “stay”cation with her kids every day after work.  They went to Trafalga, bought a movie, went to the park, went swimming and went to the zoo.  They asked me to go to the zoo with them, and I am so glad that I went.  It was a gorgeous day and we had a great time!

April Conference Snack Tags

This weekend is the General Conference for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints  (the Mormons).  I love conference weekend and look forward to it every six months!  For those of you that want to know what conference is all about…you can check it out here.

I love conference weekend, because we can stay home and watch it on TV (in our jamies, if we choose to!)  Sometimes we have all of our families together and sometimes my husband and I just watch it together.  But there is always a great spirit in our home and I love the messages that are taught and the things that I can learn!

I have already downloaded and printed my conference packet from Sugardoodle and I have my conference notebook ready to go.. to take notes…doodle…and just enjoy the weekend!

It is always a must to have some great treats or food while watching conference! :)

So I decided that I would make some fun tags to go along with your conference goodies!  These are fun to pass along to your VT sisters,  or to make for your family, or friends!  You can tie them onto individual serving size packages for everyone, or make one big package for the whole family!

Little Girl’s Dresses

Do you have any projects that you have had all the supplies for a long time before you got around to making it?  Well these dresses are one of those projects.  I had the pattern for a few months before I bought the fabric and then I had the fabric for several months before I got around to making them.  But I think the wait was well worth it!

Fun Scrapbook Pages!

I  have been playing with my Silhouette machine again and taking another class from Kerri Bradford.  The class that I took to design these scrapbook pages is called Just Add Color.

I don’t really do that much scrapbooking any more, but I wanted to learn these new techniques and so I decided that it would be fun to create these pages in 8.5 x 11 format and then I could frame them in an 8 x 10 frame if I wanted to!

Meeting P-Dub aka Pioneer Woman!

My DIL and I have been waiting for a picture of us and the Pioneer Woman together; it was supposed to be emailed to us from the RootsTech conference… but it has not come yet and I decided that I would go ahead and do this post.  When the picture comes I will insert it later. :)

This is a picture that she signed for me!

I asked my DIL if she would consider writing this post and she very graciously agreed!  So this is her version of what happened that day! Continue reading

Family is Where Life Begins…

Today I have a fun new print in my shop!  This is perfect for framing or for making into a Photo Block.

This saying makes a great accent piece for your home or it makes a great gift for someone you love!  With the holidays coming up soon, you can get a good head start with this darling project!

Family is where-copy

You can look at it here, or just go to the “Shop” Category at the top of the page.

This print is formatted to an 8 x 10 size and is a JPG file, so you can have it printed as a photo!

Have a great day everyone!  Love Ya!

Fishing Adventures

Oh, what do you do in the summertime, when all the world is green?
Do you fish in a stream, or lazily dream on the banks as the clouds go by?
Is that what you do? So do I!

Children’s Songbook of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 245

Last week my husband told my oldest grandson and his brother that he would pay them $5 each to be fishing guides for a couple of the other grandkids.  They gladly accepted and so we were able to have a great fishing adventure and I did not even have to touch a worm or a fish!  :)

Thursday’s Thought…Give Me Patience

I think that today’s thought is timely for all those who have kids that have not yet gone back to school! :)

Does anyone else feel this way, or is it only me?

I love my grandkids, but I can definitely tell that is is time for school to start again!

Of course, I need patience in a lot of other ways too, so this thought is perfect for all those times.

Spring Break 2013

I am having a hard time getting back into a routine.  After our trip to Arizona and a long weekend at the cabin I just want to play all day!  Who wants to clean house and work when you have had so much fun?

This last week was spring break here, so we decided to go to the cabin for 4 days and we had two of our families come up.  It was non-stop commotion, but it was fun commotion!  Not too long after we arrived the first day, my son-in-law texted me asking me to send him a picture of his two kids with the reservoir in the background.  This is what I sent him…
