Homemade Ice Cream in a Bag

A few days ago I had all the grand kids over for another little water party with the blow up slide.  They love the slide and we had a great time.  For a little treat we made homemade ice cream in a baggie!  They thought that it was kind of fun to each be able to make their own little bag of ice cream.  It is really easy to do…all you need is your favorite ice cream mix, zip lock baggies, ice and salt.  Then you have to shake, shake, shake it, like this: Continue reading

Cherry Limeade

On the 4th of July I made this tart cherry limeade.  It was so refreshing on a hot summer night.  I just kept drinking it and could not get enough!  I asked my husband on a scale of  1-10 what he would rate it and he gave it about an 8.  I, on the other hand had to give it a 10!  So either way, I guess you would have to say that it will be one of our new favorites  in summer drinks! Our 4th of July Party!

Here are some pictures of our 4th of July party.  I know there are a lot of pictures so please  forgive me.  We were few in numbers with our family members, but the kids still had a ball!  It meant more of everything for them… more time on the water slide, more prizes & more goodies!

We started off with the water slide while is was still HOT!Then we moved into sponge ball dodge ball, only this little one was just fascinated with the feel of the sponge ball! The boys thought that this was great fun, including the big boys!Next we did a target throw.  This is a new game at our house this year and they got a little competitive in this game because they are earning points to win prizes!  If you would like to make your own target throw the directions are found here at  Family Fun.

July 4th “Lollie” Garland

Have any of you made these fun “Lollies”?  I saw them over at Heartland Paper and decided I wanted to try them out. I think that they are called “lollies”, because you can also put them on a stick and then they  look like a lollipop!

So I went to the Heartland Paper Store in Woods Cross, UT a couple of weekends ago and got some wonderful double-sided card stock paper and look at how festive they turned out!

July 4th Bingo Game

Last weekend on the way to our cabin, my husband stopped at World Market to let me look around for awhile.  I love that store!  I saw a really cool Bingo Game and it was a vintage one with a cage wheel and everything.  I debated about getting it for our 4th of July party, but in the end I decided just to make a game instead and use the money to buy prizes for the winners!  I’m crazy I know.  I really don’t know what got into me… but lucky for you, because now you can play bingo on the 4th of July  with your family and friends too!

Ribbon Topiary

I am so excited about this project because the main material used is RIBBON, and you all know how I feel about ribbon!  :)

I am using this as part of my decor for outside on my front porch but you could use it in so many  other ways.  They would be great as decorations for a party or shower,  you could do it in a color theme for all the different holidays.  Red, white and blue for the summer, maroon and green for Christmas, pink or blue for baby showers, or just use the colors in your home for a fun home decor accent! Lemon Cream Cupcakes

I made these Lemon Cream Cupcakes for Easter and they were a big hit with everyone.  They are very refreshing with all the lemon zest, fresh squeezed lemon juice, a lemon glaze and all topped off with a cream cheese frosting!  YUM.  They are very pretty and would be fun for any spring or summer get together like showers, bunco, girl’s night out, book club, etc. Continue reading
