Chocolate Chip Cookie Ice Cream Sundae

This  is a great dessert to make because it looks like you went to a lot of work, when you really didn’t!   So if you want to impress your family, friends, co-workers or neighbors, just make this dessert! :)

This is just a basic Toll House Cookie recipe that you bake as pan cookies, so that is why they are so easy!  I used butter in these to give them that rich, buttery flavor!

Parmesan Crusted Salmon

This recipe that I have today has become one of our all-time favorites!

I have not always been a big fish eater, but lately I have fallen in love with the salmon fillets from Costco.  They are individually frozen, so I can just take out what I need.  They always taste so good because they are each wrapped separately and it really preserves their freshness.  I love this recipe because another one of my food loves is… Parmesan cheese!

Lemon Filled Cupcakes

I went to Trader Joe’s a while back and I got a bottle of lemon curd and I could not wait to make something with it…and this is what I came up with!

Tortellini Salad

I don’t know why I have never thought to make a tortellini salad before!  I love tortellini, but have always thought of it as a hot dish not a cold salad.  Well, I think that I am now hooked!  I have tried a couple of different versions, and I loved both of them!  This pasta is perfect for a salad with the cheese already in it.  You can use the frozen or the dried, whichever you prefer, I have tried both and like them both about the same.

Summertime Ice Cream Balls

Before I get to this recipe I have some exciting news that will be coming to this blog, I am going to be adding a shopping cart so watch for some fun items that are coming soon!

This is the perfect dessert for your next BBQ, 4th of July Party or just for a fun dessert for your family!  The reason that it is perfect is that you make it ahead of time and then just take out of the freezer, add your toppings and serve!

This is so yummy with the crunchy outside full of cinnamon and the creamy ice cream in the middle!  This resembles fried ice cream but without all the fried mess or extra calories!

Patriotic Round-up

Today I decided that I would just share a few fun ideas from past posts,  to make your summer just a little bit more patriotic.  With the 4th of July coming up, maybe you could use one or two of these ideas.  Just click on the link below each picture for step-by-step directions or recipes.

This first idea, to help with your decorating needs, are these fun lollies.  They are easy to make and they are quite stunning!  I made mine into a garland and you can learn how to make your own too:

4th of July Party

This recipe is perfect for snacking, but I must warn you that it can be very addicting!  With the sweet and salty taste, you won’t be able to eat just one handful!  It is a combination of chocolatey, sweet, salty, peanut butter, and marshmellowy bliss! This is fun to package up in individual cups or bags and looks so pretty!  There is also a story behind the name of this treat!

Better Than Hunting Chex Mix

And last, but not least, here is a fun printable for you to use!  We all know how precious our freedom is, so let’s let it RING!  You can make it into a faux canvas block, like I did here, or you can just print it and frame it.  There is the tan background or a white version.

So that is my patriotic round-up.  I hope that there is one or two ideas that you can use for your summer fun!

Chocolate Syrup Cake

I remember making this cake many years ago.  It is a very rich, moist, cake…just the way I love cake to be!  It also has a cooked, ganache-type icing that is irresistable!

I have not made it for a long time, but when I saw a post somewhere out there in blog land, it reminded me of how much I used to love it and  I decided to make  it again… and it did not disappoint!

I usually do not make cake unless I know that I will have others here to help eat it, because my husband and I cannot eat a whole cake.  But with this cake we both could not get enough and I found that we were keeping track of who had eaten a piece!  You definitely cannot eat just one piece-I dare you to try!

Strawberry Banana Milkshake

I hope that everyone had a great Memorial Day Weekend.  My husband and I went to our cabin for Fri and Sat. Then on Sunday, my daughter-in-law asked if we could tend the kids while they went to a funeral.  So we were very spontaneous and I ended up having a sleepover with some of the grandkids.  We made a fire in the back yard and made smores, played hide and seek, and red light…green light.  Then we made grandma’s popcorn (as one of my grandson’s calls it,) because I put  real butter on it!   We ended the night by watching “Wreck it Ralph”.  The kids were all so good and we really had a fun time.  The next morning some of the boys went with their dad and Grandpa up to scout out a hunting property with their Ranger and had a great time.  The girls went to Gardner Village shopping, then to some fabric stores to look for baby fabric for this new little one that is coming soon.  We had a picnic at a fun park and then to end the afternoon the kids went swimming.  It was a fun spontaneous day.  Sometimes those are even better than the ones that you plan out so well, don’t you think?

I think that summer has now officially started! :)
