Girl’s Weekend 2015

For Christmas,  my husband and I decided that we wanted to give everyone an experience, instead of a wrapped gift, so we gave my daughter and DIL’s a girl’s weekend!

 It was so much fun!

We started off by going to dinner at Bucca di Beppo.  Most of them had never been here before, so they loved trying out a new dining place!

Family Photo Wall

We had our family pictures taken way back in May, but it has taken this long for me to get the finished products and get them put up on the wall!  The pictures that I took down were about 18 years old!  I have other family photo walls that are a lot more recent than that, but on this particular wall, I had not changed the pictures for that long!!  I guess that I am just a creature of habit and love to see old pictures of my family. old family pictures wall

Summer Sewing Class – Turning Twenty Quilt

With all of my recuperating time from my accident and now with summer coming to an end really quick (the kids start back to school next week!) I did not get to my usual sewing classes for all the granddaughters. But I decided that I would do a class with my oldest granddaughter because she is now old enough to do most of it on her own!  Eight years old is a great time to start your little ones sewing, because they are so excited about it and they are getting the coordination that is needed to run the foot pedal and guide the fabric at the same time!

Thursday’s Thought-A Good Father is…

Today for my Thursday’s thought, I decided that I had better do one more Father’s Day quotes.  I think that this one is so true.  Good dad’s are sometimes hard to come by.  I am so grateful for my own father and the great example that he is to my family and I.  We all just love him to death!  I am also grateful for my husband’s father.  He too, is well loved by all of us!A good ffather

This would be fun printed and framed for the father in your life!  To  print just click on this link:  Father’s Day

I am also so grateful for my husband who was always there for my children as they were growing up…and is still there for them all the time.  They still value his opinion on things from raising the kids to finances to sports questions and everything in between!  It is so great that they feel like they can call him anytime and he will take the time to talk to them!

If you have a great father in your life, be sure to tell him how much you love and appreciate all that he has done for you!

Happy Father’s Day to all those great dads out there!

Thursday’s Thought-Father’s Day

Today I decided that I would do a round-up of some of my past Father’s Day and Family sayings and gift ideas. This way you have a collection of them all in the same place!

Anniversary Scrapbook

My husband and I just celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary!?  How can that be…when I still consider myself to be a forty-something?  The numbers just don’t crunch!

But I am the luckiest girl alive because I am truly married to my BEST Friend!

I decided to make a little scrapbook because of a fun little idea that I saw on Pinterest, it uses all kinds of numbers and I knew that my husband would love it!Anniversary Book Continue reading

Thursday’s Thought-Home is Where your Mom Is

I am having a few technical difficulties with my blog, but I have someone working on them along with our new look, so please be patient with me! :)

Today I thought that I would do a Mother’s Day thought, since it is coming up here shortly.  My mother has been gone for 7 years now, but I am so grateful for all the many things that she taught me and the wonderful family life that I had growing up!  I have wonderful memories of my mom helping me and teaching me so many of her different talents…sewing, cooking, quilting, and helping others. I was a very lucky girl to have a mom like her!  So this thought is in her honor!

To print this, right click over the image and go to “save image as” then save in a folder, or you can right click over the image and go to “copy image” , open your favorite program like Word or Presentations and right click again and go to “paste”.  This has been formatted to an 8 x 10 size which would be perfect for framing and giving to your favorite Mom! :)

Have a great Thursday!

Thanks for Visiting!  Love Ya!
