My Swiss Days Treasures

This past weekend is one of my favorite weekends of the whole year!   Every year on the Friday and Saturday before Labor Day, is Swiss Days in Midway, Utah.  They have a giant boutique with really good quality products!  It is always a mad house and it is the only time that I will go into the crowds to go shopping!  I really do not like crowds all that much, but I look forward to this boutique in spite of all the people!  :)Swiss Days 2014 Continue reading

Family Photo Wall

We had our family pictures taken way back in May, but it has taken this long for me to get the finished products and get them put up on the wall!  The pictures that I took down were about 18 years old!  I have other family photo walls that are a lot more recent than that, but on this particular wall, I had not changed the pictures for that long!!  I guess that I am just a creature of habit and love to see old pictures of my family. old family pictures wall

Rustic Picture Frame

Medical update: I am getting a little bit stronger every day.  I think the thing that fooled me the most was how weak I am and how little energy I have!  I guess that is from the blood loss. I feel like my arm is getting a little bit stronger every day and my incision is healing well.  The good news is that the numbness is slowly leaving…the bad news…I can now feel it!  I still have my super glue on the top of the incision, but the bruising is almost gone.  (My arm just looks a little bit dirty where the bruising is!)  I can now start lifting 10 pounds, but I cannot yet rotate my arm outwards all the way.  But all in all, I would say that I am doing super!

So, I still cannot do very many projects, but I would like to share one with you that I picked up at a little boutique during our town celebration:

Chalkboard Door

Hi everyone, here is my first project post since my accident!  I want to thank everyone again for all of your kind, sweet comments and for your support, they both mean the world to me!

Obviously, this project was finished before my injury, but it is one that I have thoroughly enjoyed while I have been recuperating!

Thursday’s Thought-America the Beautiful

I wanted to do an Americana print that I could print and frame or put on a wooden block, so I decided this would be a good Thursday’s thought for this week!

I am so grateful to live in this free country where I get to choose what I do everyday…I get to choose how I worship…I get to choose where I live…I get to choose how to spend my time.. and how I raised my family!  There are some things that we all disagree with on how this country is run…but in the end, it is still one of the greatest countries!America-the-beautifulTo download the PDF click on this link:  America the beautiful,

I have enhanced the color and a few things on this print that are not on the PDF.  If you would like to print it as seen, right click over the image and go to “save image as” then you can save in a folder and print it from there.  It is formatted for an 8 x 10 image.

I think that I have a wooden block in my craft stash, so I think that this image will soon be in the making as a photo block!  If you want to do this as a photo block, remember that it has to be printed with a matte finish!

Have a Great Thursday everyone,

and if you live in this great country, show your patriotic pride by being grateful for the freedoms that you enjoy!

Cherry Table Quilt

I have a fun little table quilt that I have been working on for the last year!  One of my girlfriend’s gave me the pattern and we have both been working on them together, it is so fun to have a friend that likes to do what you do!  I guess that is why we are best friends! :)

Strawberry Tablecloth

I have been tending grandkids for 9 straight days and I am totally worn out!  I guess that is why you have your children when you are young, so that you can kind of keep up with them!  :)  They have been really good kids, but I am exhausted.  We went to the park, had picnics, went to our cabin overnight, had our Easter party, went to another Easter party, learned how to do a rainbow loom…made lots of bracelets, went shopping, went to church and I carpooled kids from school!   Oh and we also watched after 3 birds!  I forgot how much time and ENERGY it takes to keep up with little kids!  So my praise goes out to all of you that are raising small children…keep up the great job!

Needless to say, I have not done many projects this last week, but I do have one very simple sewing project for you today:
