“Fall” Letters

This is a post that I shared a couple of weeks ago over at “I Should Be Mopping the Floor”  and wanted to share it with you today!

I have a little project that will help you celebrate this beautiful time of the year.  I love this project because it is one that you can leave out on your kitchen table, a fireplace mantel or a shelf for several months.  It does not need to come down with the Halloween decorations and can stay clear through Thanksgiving!

Halloween Table Quilt

I finished my Halloween Table Quilt last weekend!  Hurray!

I feel like I have been sewing non-stop lately, but I have been able to get a lot done, so I am not complaining!    My husband went hunting last week so I did no cleaning or cooking for a couple days.  It was nice to just be on my own timetable and do whatever I wanted when I wanted!   I have two more quilts that I want to get done.  A Fall/Thanksgiving quilt and my Christmas Stitched quilt.  Oh, and I have another minky/baptism quilt, (but for a girl this time) coming up the first part of December!  So I have 3 more to go!

But here is my Halloween Table Quilt.  I think that it turned out pretty cute.  I love all the details in this little quilt.  It is good for a wall hanging or for a table quilt:

Fabric Monogram Wreath

I shared this project a couple of weeks ago over at “I Should Be Mopping the Floor”, but wanted to share it with all of my readers in case you missed it over there.

I have a super fun little project today.  It is this darling fabric monogram wreath just in time for your Halloween crafting and decorating!  This is sooo easy to make, but it looks like it took a great deal of time and effort!

Craft Retreat 2013

We were able to get our cabin all put back together from the fire and the flood, just in time for my craft retreat this weekend.  (Sometimes it helps to have a deadline that you are working for!)  The new carpet was installed on Monday and we arrived on Thursday!  The ladies were all kind enough to help me put a couple of the beds back in the right place and do a quick little clean-up.

We started the weekend with a shopping trip to World Market and a couple of other places, then we had dinner at Cafe Rio, a favorite of everyone!  After dinner we drove up to our cabin.  There were 6 of us and we had a great time over the course of the next two days getting to know each other.  We crafted, we ate, we talked, we laughed, we ate, we crafted some more and just had a great overall time.

Craft retreat 2013

This is what the loft looked like most of the weekend.  We were painting, sewing, paper crafting and doing vinyl!  We were able to complete 5 different projects in one day!  It was pretty much a marathon, but such a fun one!  We started Friday morning right after breakfast and ended at about midnight!  With only a couple of breaks in between.

Fall Sweet & Salty Mix

Here is the recipe that I promised, for a yummy sweet and salty fall mix that I used to give the sisters that I visit teach.

I love the buttery, salty flavor of the bugles for the base of this recipe, it is also a great recipe because you can add whatever you want to make your own version!  I think that dried cranberries, chocolate pomegranates or spiced gumdrops would also be wonderful in this mix!

Fun Thanksgiving Printables and Games

Today I have a round-up of a few FUN Thanksgiving printables.

This first printable is for Thanksgiving Place cards and you can print them here.

There are 4 different ones to choose from or you can do a variety of all of them!  These are just a fold-over, so you just need to print, cut, fold in half and write names, or you could have everyone write one blessing, and have everyone guess who wrote what blessing!   So easy! Continue reading

Thursday’s Thought

As I was coming home the other day, I turned onto our street and this was the view that I saw!

It was so beautiful that I ran in and grabbed my camera and started snapping away.

I love that I have this kind of beauty right in my front yard!

So it is with a grateful heart, that I decided on this thought for the week!

Happy Thursday everyone!  Love Ya!

Fall Pillow Wrap

Don’t  forget to vote today?

That is my little public service announcement!  :)

Now on to the post for today:

I have all of my Halloween put away and I have been a little slow on getting my fall/Thanksgiving decorations out.  I just am having a hard time getting into it.  I think that if I put it off, it will not come as fast!   It is not Thanksgiving that I really worry about it is Christmas that seems to come waaay too fast!  So let’s just be in denial and see where that gets me!  :)

I did get one thing done and put out:

Here is my fall pillow wrap.

I made a linen pillow cover for this one that can be used with other wraps throughout the year.  Now I have my black one from Halloween and a linen one.  I should be able to use these two pillows with most any wraps!

I love the fall leaves in this fabric with the orange polka dot ruffles.  Polka Dots and ruffles just go together, do they not?  And the brown ric rac  finishes it off so perfectly!

What a Week!

This has been a busy week here at the ranch.  Even though we are empty nesters it does not mean that we slow down very much!

My husband and I took a quick little trip to St. George, (Southern Utah)  the first few days of the week.  We went to two of the Tuacahn Theater Shows,   “Aladdin” and “Hairspray”.  They were both so good and the weather was pretty good although the first night we were there the wind came up and it got downright cold!  We figured if we were going to see these shows that we had better go now, because they are going to end this week!  We really enjoy going to the different shows every year!  Thriller starts next week and I would love to see that one too, but I doubt that we will make it back down there to see that one!  Maybe next year!
