I promised that I would show you my ribbon closet someday, and now that someday is here! I have a fetish for ribbon and when I owned a scrapbook store we had a great selection of ribbons and I was always adding to it. When I closed the store down, I brought home about 1/4 of the bolts of ribbons. We sold all the rest, but I still came home with 2 racks of ribbon! I told you I have a fetish! Most of this is what I came home with. Then I added to this collection with a lot of ribbons from Costco. They come on these big rolls, so I put them on spring curtain rods. I added the shelf to work on. I know that it is not fancy, but it does the job! I have the shelf in the corner for future ribbons! You wouldn’t want me to run out of ribbon now would you? Photo Block
We just had family pictures taken and I wanted to try the new photo blocks that look like a canvas print, and I absolutely loved the results! They are easy, inexpensive and fun to make! These would make great gifts for weddings, birthdays, new babies, Mothers’ Day, Fathers’ Day, Halloween, Easter, etc, etc., etc. :)
So who wants to make a photo block? Continue reading
Spring Letters
I found these fun letters at the Wood Connection before my trip to Arizona. I like that they say “Spring” , so that I can keep them out until May! My daughter and I got together and painted these letters yesterday. (do you like the mess, big chill cup and all) We used the easy paint technique here, that I used for the “Family” letters so I am not going to give a tutorial in this post.
I love these fun papers and the cute design in the letters! Especially the letter “i”. And of course I love the ribbons on some of the letters.
This picture has been enhanced, but I love the fun vibrant colors. I put these fun letters on my kitchen table and every time I walk by I feel like I have a early glimpse of spring right there in my kitchen! It makes me happy. We only use our kitchen table on Sunday when everyone comes over for dinner, so I do not have to move them every time we eat! :)
My daffodils are blooming, my tulips are all up and starting to bloom, my garden is starting to sprout…I think that spring is really going to come!
So what makes you happy for spring?
Easter Decor
I put out some of my Spring/Easter decorations the other day. I had a really good helper in my granddaughter that I was tending. We decided one afternoon when she was here that it would be a good idea to start decorating. Her little brother, however, was not the biggest helper! He was not feeling good and I thought that he would maybe take a little nap. NOT! I guess that is what I get for trying to out guess him. But we did get the front entrance done and the stairway. This is what it looks like:
Fun Easter Pots!
I am way excited about my new Easter printable! I was originally going to just tie it together with some cute ribbon and make it into a bunting for my fireplace, which would be really cute, but I decided to use each individual letter and put them in painted pots and look at what I came up with!
Blanket Delivery
Yesterday I did a tutorial on how to make the fringed fleece blankets and I was able to get eight of these made and ready for delivery to a local hospital. We are doing this project because one of my granddaughters was recently in the hospital and she received a blanket like this and it made her so happy that I decided to pay it forward to some other sick children.
On Sunday afternoon after we had dinner, I talked all of the girls into helping me tie up the blankets to get them ready for delivery to the hospital. As you know, my motto is that ribbon makes everything cuter! So we tied up the blankets with different colored ribbons. We have 4 boy blankets and 4 girl blankets ready to go! Continue reading
Fringed Fleece Blankets
When my granddaughter was in the hospital they gave her a fringed blanket and she absolutely loved it. So I decided to make some blankets to donate back to a local hospital.
I don’t know if I have been living in the dark ages or what, but I had never seen these blankets tied like this until she got hers and when I saw it, it was an ah ha moment! Why didn’t I ever think of that?! Don’t you love my little blanket models? My granddaughter is behind the blanket holding it up for me!
The Wood Connection Project
Yesterday I told you that I would show you the project that I came home with from The Wood Connection Store. So drum roll please: Ta…Dah!
I got these cute wood letters and I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them. I have a shelf in my living room and I wanted to put something cute on it. We had new family pictures taken a couple of days ago, so I want to put some new pictures in this room and they will go perfect now! Continue reading
The Wood Connection!
The Wood Connection has now come to Utah County and I am so excited! I have been going to the South Salt Lake Store for years and have loved it. I started going way back when I did a lot of tole painting, so that was a LOT of years ago! This store has tons of wood cutouts that you can take home and paint or decorate any way that you want to fit your own decor.
Keep Calm
I saw this saying the other day at a store and it made me smile. So I decided that I would like to make you smile too!
I made this printable in an 8 x 10 format but you can size it to any size that fits your needs. It would be fun to frame, Mod Podge on a wood board, use for a card or tag, make a fridge magnet or anything else that you little heart desires.
To print, right click on image and go to copy. Open your favorite program like Word or Presentations and right click again and go to paste. Size it to the size that will fit your needs and print.
