November Calendar

I have gotten a new makeover for the blog!  What do you think?  I love how it looks and I think that you will be able to find things a little bit easier.  We are still working out a few of the bugs, but I love the overall look!  I have been working with Jenn from Munchkin Land Designs  and I would recommend her to everyone.  She has been great to work with and has been more than willing to tweak whatever I wanted her to do!  Thanks Jenn!

Now for my post for today…

This is my calendar for November.  I used some of the same things from September, but I added a few of my own touches.  I put the fall leaves garland across the top with a group of leaves in the corner with a glass bubble that says “Inspire.”

Ikea Book Shelves (Spice Racks)

I don’t know how many of you have seen on Pinterest or out there in blog land, these spice racks from Ikea used as a book shelf. Well, I saw the idea about a year ago and I have literally been waiting that long to get some!  They have been back ordered, in stock and out again for over a year!  My cute neighbor, Susan, called me last week and said that she was at Ikea and they had some in stock and did I want her to pick some up for me!  Don’t you just love friends that watch out for you!

Monogram Window Frame

I was lucky enough to find an old window frame at an antique place a couple of weeks ago and I already had an idea in mind of what I wanted to do with it!  Since Monograms are such the rage right now, I decided that was what I would put on my window frame!  I am pretty excited about how it turned out…what do you think? Thought for Today

I have been working on several projects lately.  It seems like when the weather starts to cool down just a tiny little bit, I start getting the crafting bug to make all kinds of things for all the fall and winter holidays!  Is that nuts?   It is still August for heaven’s sake!   I am excited to share some of these ideas when I get them all completed.  But for today, I have this wonderful thought for you to think about for this weekend!

Garage Sale Nightstand Make-Over

My daughter and I went garage sale-ing at the first of the summer and she picked up a nightstand for her daughters bedroom.  She did not take “before” pictures, so that means that I have not trained her very well yet! :)

But this is the after!  So cute for a little girl! Continue reading

Ikea- Ruffled Scarf!

I was invited to a Blogger Mixer & Networking Event at Ikea.  It was so much fun to make some new blogging friends and to be able preview some of the new displays at Ikea and get a sneak peek at their new catalog! They fed us breakfast and then they sent on on a shopping spree!  It doesn’t get any better than that!  Thank you Celeste and Ikea and Tauni at SNAP for putting this great event together!

Hydrangea Wreath

I planted a hydrangea bush last spring because I love the big balls of blossoms that they produce.  I found a beautiful pink one and I have loved it all summer long.  But little did I know that when the blossoms die they fade into a beautiful green and yellow color!  I saw a hydrangea wreath somewhere out there in blogland and decided that I would try my hand at making one and I have to say that I am so excited about the results! Painted Mason Jars

When I did the visiting teaching handout for this month I pictured it with a painted mason jar.  These are so easy to make and all you need is a bottle and some spray paint and of course some cute ribbon!  These are perfect for a vase for flowers from your garden or a bunch from the grocery store. I just went outside in my yard and picked these Shasta Daisies, I had the jars, ribbon and paint so this project cost me nothing out of pocket to make.  Bonus! Continue reading

15 min Pillow Slipcovers

I have some old pillows that I use outside on my patio and they were getting pretty hammered, so I decided that I would just make some new slipcovers to put over them.  They were sooo easy to make and yet made such a difference that I wondered why I had waited so long to do them. Continue reading
